The ray of hope we have seen with the diminishing Covid cases has now turned upside down and we are stuck in our home for maybe another few months or so. Is your binge list all set? 1. Toofan


If you are a sports freak, get ready to be ravaged by ‘Toofan’. After the grand success of ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra is ready again to pull out another sports drama on the stage. It is the story of an Indian boxer who faces series of struggles, trials, and events to get to the national level competition. The teaser seemed very promising so far.

2. The Woman In The Window


Joe Wright is all set to take you on a roller coaster ride of thrill and horror with his upcoming film based on a novel of the same name written by A.J.Finn. An agoraphobic (an anxiety disorder where the person considers his/her environment unsafe) psychologist befriends a neighbor across the street. Things turn upside down for her when she witnesses a disturbing crime in the window across from her apartment.

Genre: Psychological thriller.

Starring: Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Fred Hechinger, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jeanine Serralles, Mariah Bozeman, and Julianne Moore.

3. Oxygen


For the thrill lovers, yet again, we have Alexandre Aja’s upcoming survival thriller film. A woman wakes up in a cryogenic oxygen pod with no memory of how she got there. She must remember who she is and find a way to survive before she runs out of air. Aja’s ‘Crawl’ and ‘The hills have eyes’ had gained quite the attention. Hopes are high for this one too.

4. Army Of The Dead


The action director, Zack Snyder after a few action and superhero movies is back into the zombie world with his second zombie movie after his directorial debut, ‘Dawn of the Dead’. Based on his own story, a team of mercenaries plans to carry out a full-blown Las-Vegas set heist in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Huma Qureshi is all set to be a part of the team.

5. The Underground Rail Road


Tv fans had been waiting for this series for years. The series is a directorial debut from Barry Jenkins adapted from the novel of the same name written by Colsol Whitehead that imagines the underground railroad as a fully operating rail network system that brings formerly enslaved African-American people to freedom in the early mid-1800s.

Starring: Thuso Mbedu, Chase W. Dillon, Aaron Pierre, and Joel Edgerton.

Streaming: Amazon Prime Video from 14th May 2021.


6. Milestone


The story revolves around a normal truck driver, Ghalib who became the first in the company to set the benchmark of driving 500,000 miles. But things didn’t go well as he faced severe back pain. As the pain increases, an existential threat overwhelms him when he is asked to train a young driver. Directed by Ivan Ayr, the film possesses quite a depth.

7. Jupiter’s Legacy


Are you a superhero fan like me? Then you would love to see Mark Millar and Frank Quietly’s comics of superheroes, coming to life under the direction of Steven S. DeKnight. The series will show the legacy of a generation of superheroes who first came into power in the early 1900s and their super teenage kids are next who struggle to live up to the legendary feats of their parents.

Starring: Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter.

8. Fast & The Furious 9


Director Justin Lin is back with the 9th main installment in the Fast & Furious saga. After the events of the previous film, ‘The Fate of the Furious’, Dominic Toretto and his family possess a new threat from a foe, none other than his own younger brother, Jakob, who is a deadly assassin, and is working with Cipher, their age-old enemy, who holds a personal vendetta against Dominic.

Starring: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, john Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.

9. Selena: The Series (Season 2)


For those who have watched season 1, the next season of Selena is here for them. The biographical series directed by Moises Zamora is all about the story of the Tejano Singer Selena Quintanilla from her childhood, to the rise of her as a popular singer disregarding family pressure and making tough choices to hold on to love and music.

10. The Upshaws


Ending the list with a lovable and wholesome comedy series directed by Zack Snyder, we have The Upshaws. The series revolves around a working-class black family striving for a better life and happy home while going through every kind of struggle in the comedy series. The trailer already got a lot of love from the fans.
