How Indian Men Can Choose Colors For Their Skin Tone

Updated: Mar 17

Skin tone is one of the important factors that decide the color of your attire. Skin tone is most precisely portrayed regarding two its top tone and its undercurrent, which can be warm, cool, or nonpartisan. The Ideal shades in an outfit that matches or supplements your skin type can encourage an engaging look. The tones we wear assume a significant part in whether we look splendid, new, or dull and cleaned out. There are a lot of approaches to sort out the best tones for your skin tone, yet it doesn't need to be confounded.

By wearing the right tones, you can elevate your personality and create your personal brand. However, there is no hard and fast rule as to which colors a particular person ‘CAN WEAR’ or ‘CANNOT WEAR’. Any person can wear any color but, how you wear it matters. Here are a few tips on how you can decide the right colors for your skin tone as a beginner.

1. FOR THE LIGHT/FAIR-SKINNED

If you have pale skin and light features, then colors that clearly contrast with your skin tone will enhance your complexion. Men with blue undertones (who get freckles & pink rashes in the sun) can wear colors in darker shades of blues and greens. However, most of the Indian fair-skinned men who have yellow undertones (who get a tan when out in sun) can opt for the darker shades of browns and reds.

You would want to avoid soft, pastel shades or bright colors as these will only wash out on your skin tone. The same rule can be followed for neutrals too; so rather than white, light beige, or stone, choose richer shades such as sand, camel, khaki, and slate grey. If you are a huge fan of bright colors, you can still adopt them as part of accessories or even in a small part of your outfit.

2. FOR THE MEDIUM/OLIVE SKINNED BUDDIES

In case you're hazier than a pale-skinned person, tan effectively well, and lean vigorously toward yellow, olive, or an intensely beige in your skin tone, you're most likely in this category.

Any shades of yellow, green, or brown that come excessively close to your skin tone should be thrown away. While most colors look good with a medium skin tone, you can make sure you look your best by opting for shades that are either a little brighter or darker than the middle ground. This means, choosing pale beige rather than warm sand if you’re opting for light neutrals, or try a bolder shade of red rather than brick red, for example.

Hues you should probably push away include pistachio, mustard, olive, and mocha brown. For monochrome looks like all-white or pastels-on-pastels, make sure you’re tanned enough or have a hint of the neutral shades to carry it off without looking washed out.

3. FOR THE DARKER LOOKING MATES

Similar to medium skin tone people, guys with darker skin have won the game and can try their hand at pretty much any color shade without any apprehension. Since you have a whole world of colors to play with make sure you pick the right ones. Having a license to wear bold, bright colors like jade green or cobalt blue is amazing, however, be mindful of adding balance to your outfit with a color that will put the look together.

The colors that you should stay away from are bright like cherry red, yellow, orange, and so on. Instead of which you can choose the toned-down versions of these colors. Keep in mind to add a spark of light shades so that the whole outfit complements your complexion as well as your persona.

4. DO THE MANDATORY MIRROR TEST

Don't simply get things from the rack and choose to bring them home. When purchasing new garments, remain before a mirror, hold them facing your neck, and take a gander at them regarding your tone. A lovely tone may not look as great on you as it will on another person. Preferably, it should make your skin look more brilliant and glowing. If not, attempt a shade you may not normally get. It’s even better if you go for a personal stylist or a personal shopper who will help you pick clothes so that you will have an idea of what to pick the next time you go.
